The team at Cross Comix thanks all the artists and visitors of the festival. Put in your agenda: on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 September 2027 we will be back in De Doelen with a full program around the theme ‘Artists who want to change the world’.
The tenth edition of the Cross Comix Festival will land in De Doelen in Rotterdam on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September. Expect a packed program around the theme: Recycle! The French phenomenon Yvan Guilllo will be talking about his Samplerman comics, for which he reuses old American comics. Experience “Ik zie je woorden“, a project especially created for the festival, which combines poetry translated into images with performance.
There are even more firsts at Cross Comix: Pests, the latest project of Drawing the Times, and the best one page comics of the year in the GRID expo. Judith Vanistendael presents her new album “De Waterlanders” – get it a week before it’s in the bookstores. The festival is also the scene of the scientific conference, Imagination, Mediation & Manifestation, on the use of image stories in healthcare. Speakers include Sabba Khan and Octavia Roodt.
Of course you will also find recurring events at Cross Comix: the Makers Market where artists sell unique productions, the Kiosk with the best foreign zines, book presentations, hands-on workshops, visual performances at Rotterdam Central Station, other exhibitions and presentations, including a conversation about the influence of the recently deceased grandmaster Marjane Satrapi.
