Cross Comix was founded on the insight that there are no limits to the relevance of comics. The organisation builds bridges to other art disciplines, but also to current social events. We play a pioneering role in this, in the sense that the starting point is not the comic or graphic novel itself, but the relationship with its surroundings. We want to be of significance to the discipline, but also to the world outside it.
We distinguish ourselves from other comic festivals because we are able to create innovative, complex productions ourselves: an animation with a classical orchestra, a book with input from hundreds of makers, a search for graphic talent in Ukraine for an exhibition, a co-production about people with intellectual challenges in collaboration with a partner in the social field.
