For Cross Comix 2026 we are looking for the most beautiful, groundbreaking and compelling zines, art books and small press from all over the world.
Our festival by and for lovers of visual storytelling will take place on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th of September, in Rotterdam (NL). The Zine Kiosk is the first thing you see when you enter. It is where we showcase and sell the freshest, most amazing and innovative creations by makers and independent publishers from all over the world. We celebrate zine & DIY culture and are proud to share this amazine world with our audience!
Every year, we stock up with the latest publications by international makers. We scout at festivals, reach out to independent publishers, but we would also LOVE to include zines from outside of our bubble. Through this open call, you can apply your work to be one of them!
Who can apply?
All zine-makers and independent publishers outside of the Netherlands can apply. We also love to see Non-European zinemakers!
What does it cost?
We sell the zines for you at our festival. We don’t take any commission, 100% of the sale price goes to you after the festival. We share the shipping costs, which means:
– You will pay the shipping costs to send your zines to us (NL)
– We will pay the shipping costs to send any unsold zines back to you
Deadlines
The open call closes July 20th 2026, 11:59 pm.
The final selection will be announced in the week of August 3rd. When you are selected, we will ask you to send five copies of your zines to us by August 17, in time for our festival in September.
How it works
- Fill out the form below to submit your zine(s)
- Check your email around August 3rd to see if your zines were selected
- Ship your selected zines to us August 17th latest
- We will sell your zines for you in our Zine Kiosk at Cross Comix
- We will report to you after the festival how many copies were sold, and transfer the full amount
- We will ship unsold copies back to you
It’s possible to apply more than one zine! Just submit the form below multiple times for each zine. You don’t need to re-enter your profile info every time, just the zine-specific info.
Good to know
Your publication does not have to be completed at the time of submitting this application. You have until the last August 17 to ship the finished product to us. We do however need to get an impression of what the end result will be (see form).
