De Grote Zomer Hut is an interactive installation created by Teuntje Fleur for the Kunsthal Rotterdam. Together, the sculptures form a colorful fantasy forest: a landscape in which visitors can wander, look, search, and create new worlds themselves.

Each sculpture is assembled and painted by hand and has its own shape, character, and color. The various parts become, as it were, separate figures within one larger fantasy landscape. By placing them side by side, a world emerges that does not need to be entirely explainable, but primarily invites you to look and imagine for yourself.

The sculptures stem from Teuntje Fleur’s fascination with creating worlds and places where you can step out of everyday reality for a moment. They are intended as objects that leave room for fantasy: you can recognize a landscape, a character, or something entirely different in them.

Every visitor is free to decide for themselves what they see and what it means to them. Even better, there are materials available to add your own small tree to the forest.
