Manuel Hernández Ruiz

Manuel Hernández Ruiz is a Colombian visual artist whose work ranges from painting, drawing, sculpture and installations, to books, publications, prints and graphic art in general. His work focuses on questions about identity, arcane and contemporary symbolism, Latin Americanness in the midst of globalization, storytelling, and existential absurdity. He holds a Bachelor from the School of Fine Arts at the University of Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia. Between 2023 and 2025 he made the official image of the Latin American music festival Cordillera. He has shown his work in art fairs and exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, Greece, Colombia, South Africa, France, among others. Since 2019, Manuel has resided in Athens. He has shown his works recently in two solo shows in Bogota, at SGR Gallery, titled «Autopoiesis» and in Athens at O.Art.Ath, named «The Beast». His latest book - Earthworm - came out at the end of 2024 and was published by PalmPress (Col).
